Decatur Day Program

The Decatur Day Program is one of two Day Habilitation Programs offered by CDD NCA. At the Decatur Center, qualified individuals are given work and life skills training in a controlled work environment. Participants in the program earn wages based on their individual productivity, producing products for North Alabama area vendors.

Participants receive training in:

  • Economic Self-Sufficiency
  • Self-Care
  • Receptive/Expressive Language
  • Capacity for Independent Living

By basing each individual's earning on productivity, participants are taught strong work habits and receive personal satisfaction of performing meaningful work. Individualized training is provided for each person to develop skills in their particular areas of need.

Certification

This program is certified and monitored by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH). Funding is provided by ADMH. The Decatur Day Program is certified by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide sheltered employment opportunities.
