The Day Habilitation Programs offer eligible individuals the ability to develop job and life skills through a controlled work environment. Those receiving services are provided an employment opportunity, performing services for various North Alabama vendors on a contractual basis. Participants in the program receive a wage that is based on productivity, emphasizing the development of strong work habits.
Day habilitation services are provided at two centers in North Alabama:
- Decatur Day Program (Morgan County)
- Bill Stewart Center (Lawrence County)
This program is certified and monitored by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH). Funding is provided ADMH. Both workshops are certified by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide sheltered employment opportunities.
